Our story

We created The Clean Food Company because we believe the UK’s fresh produce system isn’t working. Herbs and salad leaves are sprayed with pesticides, flown for hundreds of miles and washed repeatedly in chemicals, ending up limp and flavourless by the time they reach our plates. Huge quantities of water are wasted and the carbon costs for the planet are vast.
We think there’s a better way. New aeroponic farming technologies make it possible to grow seasonal produce all year round, right here in the UK. Completely controlled and ultra-hygienic indoor growing environments mean crops are completely clean and safe to eat from the moment they’re picked. And with no need for endless processing, our food reaches our customers quickly and beautifully fresh.
