We operate a network of indoor vertical farms across the UK, each measuring just a few thousand square feet but producing the equivalent of several acres of conventional farmland. We use Innovation Agritech Group’s GrowFrame™ technology to ensure the fastest, greenest and cleanest harvests and give us the flexibility to meet our customer’s needs. The GrowFrame™ is an aeroponic system in which each plant’s roots are exposed to the air and regularly misted with water and a precise blend of nutrients, resulting in faster growth and bigger yields.

We use up to 98% less water than traditional farming due to our closed-loop irrigation system, in which plant roots are misted with water and anything that’s not absorbed is cleaned and recycled back through the system. Growing indoors allows us to produce fragile and seasonal crops just a few miles down the road from the customer, instead of flying them in from thousands of miles away, helping our customers reduce their carbon footprint. Because we operate completely controlled environments, we don’t need to use any chemical pesticides or herbicides and we don’t damage or disrupt natural ecosystems. Instead of using precious fertile soil to grow our crops, we sow our seeds in a sustainable substrate made from coco peat (a natural waste product of the coconut industry). Lastly, we produce our own renewable energy on site and use it to power our farms.

When a plant’s roots are exposed to a continual supply of oxygen and exactly the right balance of nutrients, it develops its oils and sugars more efficiently and its flavour profile intensifies. The precisely controlled environment of our farms also allows us to manipulate the plant’s metabolism using different colours and intensities of light to enhance aspects of its flavour.

Our vertical farming systems can grow over 130 different species of plants. If you’re struggling to source a particular crop, whether it’s edible flowers for cakes, sprouts and microgreens for salads or herbs and spices in bulk, why not get in touch and see if we can grow it for you?

As a vertical farming company, our produce is grown in completely controlled environments with no dependence on the sun for light and warmth or rain for water. This means that even highly climate-sensitive seasonal produce can be grown all year round with total consistency of quality and pricing.

Only crops grown in soil can be officially certified as organic food in the European Union, though in Asia and the United States, vertically farmed crops can and have been certified as organic. We think our produce is even cleaner and greener than official organic standards in the UK, as with no threat from bugs or diseases, even the most fragile seedlings can thrive with no need for any kind of pesticide.

Plants need light and warmth to grow and outdoors this is provided by the sun. However, new vertical farming technologies have made it possible to artificially replicate the conditions of nature – or even improve upon them. We use specific colours and intensities of LED lighting at different stages of the growth cycle to ensure swift, healthy growth with maximum colour, flavour and nutritional value.

Plants need water and nutrients to grow and outdoors this is provided by the soil. However, growing in soil means that plants need to be carefully washed before consumption in order to make them safe. It also means that pesticides and herbicides are usually required during the growing process. Our vertical farming technologies are soil-free and have a closed-loop aeroponic irrigation system, where all the necessary water and nutrients are misted directly onto the plants’ roots in precisely tailored amounts. Meaning no soil is needed for our thriving plants.

No, we use aeroponic technology, which uses 40% less water than hydroponic growing. The difference is that plants grown aeroponically have their roots exposed to the air and therefore to a continuous supply of oxygen, which helps them to grow more quickly and to develop their oils and sugars much more effectively. In hydroponic growing, the plant’s roots are submerged in water, which means there is a greater risk of exposure to bacteria and the technique usually produces smaller plants and lower yields.
